Our primary fund-raising event, Lobsterfest, is one of the biggest annual events in Ancaster. This year Lobsterfest will be on Saturday May 23rd at the Ancaster Fairgrounds.
We have two other regular major events. Each year we also sponsor the Tastes of Ancaster event.
Also, we organize a golf tournament open to the general public - this past year it was held in August at Oak Gables Golf Club.
The funds raised at these events are disbursed to charities, community organizations, missionaries and church organizations with very low overhead.
In 2005 we pledged to support the entire cost of furnishing the chapel in the newly constructed Bishop Tonnos High School in Ancaster. This is a sizable and ongoing commitment.
We help staff the Out of the Cold Program in Hamilton, and support many of the major charitable organizations in Hamilton such as the Good Shepherd, Catholic Children's Aid Society, and Martha House. Each year we sponsor local youth activities and help defray the travel costs for young adults travelling to the Dominican Republic to build housing and facilities for the poor. In all we donate to over 60 different charities and service organizations each year.
Our calendar is full of activities throughout the year. Membership in the Knights is rewarding and fun. If you are a Catholic gentleman of age at least 18 years, please consider joining. Together we can make the world a better place. To obtain information about the knights or to join our council, contact, Todd Hornby at 905-648-5183 or email Todd at [email protected].
